I had never been to a San Diego chiropractor before so when my doctor suggested that I see one for back pain that I was experiencing, I knew I needed to do some research on one. I do trust my doctor, but that does not mean that I don’t want to be fully aware when he recommends another professional to add to my health care team. I did the same thing when I had to see a cardiologist, which is how I was able to choose the best one for my needs.
I went online to learn more about chiropractic care first. Of course I have heard of chiropractors, and I always associated their care with taking care of people who have back or neck issues. That was the extent of my knowledge about a chiropractor. I had no idea if a chiropractor had years of schooling or if it was just an associates degree from the local college of choice. The first thing I did was look up their training, and I was pleased to see that it is actually comparable to what my own physician has. That fact alone alleviated a lot of the worries that I had.
I then learned about chiropractic adjustments and why they are so beneficial for people to have, whether they are experiencing issues or not. I felt confident after this research, and I selected a chiropractor that is not too far from where I live. The entire office staff made me feel very comfortable from the start, and the examination was not nearly as intrusive as I thought it would be. The best part though was that the adjustments that I started having on my back from day one have really changed how I approach each day now. I feel like I have been given a new lease on life.
